CARINGPLACE
OF THE SHOALS
Our Mission at CaringPlace
"At CaringPlace, we support both the person living with memory loss and the family beside them — creating meaningful days today while building a full circle of care for the future"

CaringPlace of the Shoals was founded on a simple belief: no family should have to navigate memory loss alone.
Too often, caregivers carry the weight of love and responsibility without rest, unsure where to turn for help. We saw families needing more than services — they needed understanding, support, and a place where their loved ones could still experience joy and purpose.
CaringPlace was created to provide meaningful days for participants and peace of mind for caregivers. Here, individuals are known by name, valued for who they are, and cared for with dignity and compassion.

Because when caregivers are supported, families grow stronger — and the circle of care continues.
Our Principles of Care
Dignity in Every Moment
We honor the individuality, history, and worth of every person entrusted to our care. Each interaction is guided by respect, compassion, and the belief that every individual deserves to feel valued, seen, and purposeful.
Meaningful Connection
Care goes beyond supervision — it is about creating moments of joy, engagement, and belonging. Through purposeful activities and genuine relationships, we foster connection that supports emotional, cognitive, and social well-being.
Support for the Whole Family
Memory loss affects more than one person; it touches entire families. We walk alongside caregivers by providing trusted respite, encouragement, and resources so families feel supported, strengthened, and never alone.
Montessori-Based Approach to Dementia Care
At CaringPlace of the Shoals, we incorporate Montessori principles into dementia care by focusing on each person’s remaining abilities rather than their limitations. Activities are thoughtfully designed to be familiar, purposeful, and success-oriented, allowing participants to engage independently, maintain a sense of identity, and experience meaningful accomplishment. This approach promotes confidence, reduces frustration, and supports dignity by helping individuals continue to participate in daily life in ways that feel natural and rewarding.
